Swiss Meats started off as a family-owned country store in their community and has learned how to adapt their business to the changing economic environment since 1965. After transitioning into a meat processing business, Swiss Meats has continued to look for new ways to expand their company, which is what led them to seek out digital marketing.

Swiss Meats had never ventured into digital marketing before, making the digital landscape unfamiliar and initially intimidating for them. 

Solution

Swiss Meats was encouraged to promote specific products and deals to focus potential customers’ sights on. They did this by programmatic display campaigns based around deals about their Summer Sausages, Bacon, and Grand Champion Sausage Collection. Being precise and laser focused on a few select products and deals gave customers a less overwhelming view of Swiss Meats’ products and encouraged them to visit their website and stay longer.

The image below shows foot traffic to Swiss Meat’s brick-and-mortar location, and since starting their campaigns with January Spring, their year-over-year foot traffic has increased by +5.8%. 

Reviewing Swiss Meat’s Google Analytics website, we can also see that year-over-year, their website traffic has increased an impressive +103.8%! That is 34,000 people viewing their meat collection this year, which is DOUBLE what traffic they were receiving just this time last year. Talk about a remarkable surge!
Now here is where we get specific and can see clearly how campaigns focused on a specific message or deal have helped bring more traffic to Swiss Meats’ website. On top of all their meat product pages increasing by at minimum +13.5%, campaigns for their select products have SOARED. Example messaging for these campaigns includes “55th Anniversary Special, 7 Packages of Summer Sausages for $55” and “Everything is Better with Bacon. 6 Packages of Bacon for $55.” With help from these messages, Swiss Meats’ Summer Sausage campaign has increased their Summer Sausage page view by +89.5% in just six months! The bacon-specific campaign and messaging has increased visits to their Bacon page by +254% and their Grand Champion Sausage Collection has increased its page visits by an amazing +823.8%!
Now here’s the metric everyone really wants to see: purchases. Since starting their campaigns with January Spring 6 months ago, Swiss Meats has increased their purchases by 20.1% online! Not only have their purchases increased by 20.1%, but their average online purchase amount has also increased by over 25%. More customers and more average revenue? What a digital transformation and inspiring success story.
